Providing new key generation, factory spec space and depth key cuts, transponder keys, and programming.
Most vehicles produced since 2000 are immobilizer equipped (some since 1996). This is an additional security feature which prevents the vehicle from starting when the immobilizer cannot confirm the correct security credentials in the key. For keyed ignitions, the correctly cut key is inserted into the cylinder and turned, this is the mechanical function and all that is need for non-chipped ignitions. The antenna ring sends and receives data between the key and the immobilizer modules and if everything goes smooth, the vehicle starts and stays running. But unless the key is confirmed as valid, the vehicle either won't start at all, or will start and then turn off. Ford vehicles usually won't turn on at all and this can make diagnosis difficult when you don't already know it's the key. Most other vehicles disable the fuel pump, but the starter will not be disabled. Mobile Automotive Locksmith Vancouver.
If you're dealing with an All Keys Lost or Stolen situation, you'll want this type of programming done as well. This will remove all previous keys from the vehicles computer and ensure that they can no longer operate the vehicle.
Programming new keys doesn't change the physical combination of the key, however, meaning that lost keys can still open the doors, trunk, glove box, and mechanically operate the ignition... they just won't be able to start the car.
Typically, push to start vehicle keys must be programmed as all keys lost, regardless if you're trying to add a key or erase the previous. Most Keyed ignitions will have the option to Add A Key or to do All Keys Lost.

Add Vehicle Key:

This option allows you to add additional vehicle transponder keys or smart keys. You must currently have at least one key that will start and run the vehicle. So long as the security of vehicle has not been compromised, adding additional keys is typically simpler and quicker.

All Keys Lost:

This process can take a little longer and is also typically more expensive that just adding a second or third key.
If you’ve lost one or all of your vehicle keys, then this would certainly be a more suitable option. Also, if you’ve purchased a used vehicle and want to ensure that previously programmed keys will not operate your vehicle, this option can be equally ideal.
Reprogramming the transponder aspect of the vehicle's security should be the first step in securing the vehicle itself. However, any physical key that used to operate the doors, trunk, glove box, and physical aspect of the ignition will still work those areas, but the vehicle will not start with those keys.
